From the discussions of the post we made of Warwick Castle I was able to locate a few more images that were referred to in the comments. I have also included a "grate" picture from the castle as well. You will be able to guess the image from the dungeon and grate is in the floor of the dungeon. If you were bad you went to the dungeon. If you were really bad you went to basement of the dungeon to be forgotten. I thought we would also include one image from Sherwood Forest as a public service announcement. If you are in Nottingham your time is much better spent at the Bell Inn or the Jerusalem Inn drinking a pint than making the trek to Sherwood. (We will try to get some images together of the pubs and city center later this week.) The image we included is of the Mighty Oak. Everything else about Sherwood is pretty much what you see in the background. I actually visited Sherwood and took this picture as I was lost and just stumbled upon it. (I was lost everyday for six months.)

This pic was taken of a church from the top of one of the towers at Warwick.

This is one of the crosses that are visible in many places along the top of the castle. As you can see they are beveled to allow the archers to shoot at 180 degrees and also downward. The beveling also allowed dumping hot oil from these to anyone trying to storm the castle.

Image from the dungeon. Nuff said.

From the comments on the original post of images from Warwick we thought we include this "Grate" photo.

Royal Armor

Knights Armor

Siege Cannon

Tourist scene although the tapestry is cool.

The Mighty Oak at Sherwood Forest in February. OK now you have seen Sherwood go to the pub and participate in a British drinking game.
